Nine o’clock arrives, and the town stops in the middle of itself. The baker sleeps, the bus sleeps, even the birds sleep. Only your character stays awake. A walk through the silent streets becomes a search for whoever is putting everything to bed. As the lights go out farther along the street, there is finally a direction to follow, and nobody awake to come along.
For you if an eerily quiet town sounds like bedtime company.
What is inside this book?
Over twelve pages, a town’s sudden sleep becomes a solitary walk and a search along darkening streets. You read one or two short sentences per page. Watercolor illustrations set the sleeping baker, bus, and birds within the town, giving the silence a visible form while the text follows the question of who controls the lights.
