About LittleTale
A small studio that makes one thing: a storybook with someone you love drawn into it.
Who runs it?
LittleTale is an independent studio. It is not a large publisher, there is no call centre, and the person who answers [email protected] is the person who builds it.
Who writes the stories?
LittleTale does. All thirty-three stories are written and edited here, before anyone can buy them, and none is assembled per order. Four are our own retellings of tales that belong to everybody — Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, The Little Mermaid and The Magic Lamp. The other twenty-one are original.
How is a book actually made?
The thirty-three stories are written first and edited before anyone can buy them. The words are the same for every reader, which is deliberate: it means each story has been read and checked, rather than invented fresh and hoped about every time.
The illustrations are generated. Your photograph is used to draw the character, and that character is then drawn into each page of the story you chose. We say so plainly because you are buying pictures of somebody you love and you should know how they were made.
You see the character before any story pages exist, and nothing is made until you approve it.
What happens to the photograph?
It is used to draw your character and for nothing else. It is not used to train models and it is not sold. There is no account: a finished book opens through its own private link.
The full detail is on the privacy page.
Where does it work?
LittleTale sells to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, in US dollars. The books are digital: you read them in a browser and download a PDF. Nothing is printed and nothing is posted.
